چکیده

Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has recently emerged as a promising technology for 6 G wireless systems, due to its capability reconfigure the propagation environment. In this paper, we investigate Rate-Splitting Multiple Access (RSMA) IRS-assisted downlink system, where base station (BS) communicates with single-antenna users help of an IRS. RSMA relies on rate-splitting (RS) at BS and successive interference cancellation (SIC) provides generalized multiple access framework. We derive new architecture called IRS-RS that leverages interplay between RS For performance analysis, utilize on-off control technique passive beamforming vector closed-form expressions outage probability cell-edge near users. Moreover, also analyze behavior sufficiently large number elements. Additionally, cooperative based decode-and-forward (DF)-assisted framework DF-RS. Through simulation results, it is shown proposed outperforms corresponding DF-RS, without IRS conventional non-orthogonal (NOMA) schemes. Furthermore, impact various system's parameters such elements system revealed.

Rate-splitting multiple access for discrete memoryless channels

It is shown that the encoding/decoding problem for any asynchronous -user discrete memoryless multiple-access channel can be reduced to corresponding problems for at most 2 1 single-user discrete memoryless channels. This result, which extends a similar result for Gaussian channels, reduces the seemingly hard task of finding good multiple-access codes to the much better understood task of findi...

Performance Evaluation of Multi User Detection for Uplink Wireless Communications with Various Multiple Access Schemes

The growing demand for capacity in wireless communications is the driving force behind improving established networks and the deployment of new worldwide mobile standard. Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) limit the capacity of the system. The conventional approaches for wireless communication may not be good in many ways. Here, a proposal has been given to s...

A rate-splitting approach to the Gaussian multiple-access channel

It is shown that any point in the capacity region of a Gaussian multiple-access channel is achievable by single-user coding without requiring synchronization among users, provided that each user “splits” data and signal into two parts. Based on this result, a new multiple-access technique called rate-splitting multiple accessing (RSMA) is proposed. RSMA is a code-division multiple-access scheme...

Optimal Multiple-access Communication via Distributed Rate Splitting

We consider the basic multiple-access communication problem in a distributed setting for both the additive white Gaussian noise channel and the discrete memoryless channel. We propose a scheme called Distributed Rate Splitting to achieve the optimal rates allowed by information theory in a distributed manner. In this scheme, each real user creates a number of virtual users via a power/rate spli...

Time-Splitting Multiple-Access

It is shown that the encoding/decoding problem for any asynchronous M -user memoryless multiple-access channel can be reduced to corresponding problems for at most 2M 1 single-user memoryless channels. This is done via a method called time-splitting multiple-access which is closely related to a recently developed method called rate-splitting multiple access. It is also related to to multilevel ...
